Angélique de Folin and Harumi Klossowska de Rola.

Siegfried Contemporary
24th June – 14th July

By TDE News / 11th July 2019

YOU HAVE JUST a few days to catch this delightful show. Andreas Siegfried has brought together the botanical painter Angélique de Folin, who works with watercolour on vellum, with the jeweller and designer Harumi Klossowska de Rola, in a joint show at his Ladbroke Grove project space. Klossowska de Rola, daughter of the famous French painter Balthus and his artist wife Setsuko Klossowska de Rola, was brought up largely in the Swiss mountains near Gstaad. She has designed and created jewellery for some of the biggest names in fashion and design — from John Galliano and Valentino, to Boucheron and Chopard — and counts among her fans Karl Lagerfeld and Olivier Berggruen. For this show, she has focused on animals, birds and insects, marrying precious materials with horn and wood.

For each piece she has also made a wooden box which transforms the jewel into an element within a three-dimensional art work.
